We're a special kind of nerdy

There are days (okay, a lot of days) that Chelsea and I have extremely nerdy literary conversations. Here's one we had today over text message while I was on the bus to work.

Chelsea: Thanks for doing dishes. And helping me remodel at 10 pm. The kids are molto impresario with the progress so far.
Rob: Your Italian is astounding.
Chelsea: I know, right?! Can you believe autocorrect thought I meant Milton impresario?
Rob: Boy, Milton and autocorrect wouldn't have gotten along.
Chelsea: And e.e. cummings would have broken the phone.
Rob: Can you imagine what Clippy would have said to e.e. cummings poem in Word?
Chelsea: The sadist in me wants to put Clippy through that. "It looks like you're starting a list, er writing a poem, er, writing a letter, er, an essay, er RANDOM KEY BANGING. INITIATE SELF-DESTRUCT!"

For everyone who's scratching their heads now, here's a little context that we're both nerdy enough to just have in our heads all the time. John Milton was an English writer who was very free with the way he decided to spell things. If you've never heard of him, his most famous work, Paradise Lost, is where much of Christianity gets its understanding of the War in Heaven, the Garden of Eden and the Fall of Man. It's a staple of education, but if you choose to read it, do yourself a favor and find a version that standardized the spelling.

e.e. cummings is an American poet who used punctuation in innovative, unconventional ways.

And Clippy, as the link above explains, was a terrible invention by Microsoft that was supposed to be helpful, but in practice made everyone want to kill Clippy in inventive ways. Kids, ask your parents.

Anyway, the point of this story is that we're huge nerds and Ralph Waldo Emerson would have been a great spy. You know, the whole "transparent eyeball" thing. Ha ha.
